Don’t fall into weekend revelry. One study in the journal Obesity, reported that people consume 115 extra calories on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This can add up to an extra 5 pounds a year. In order to avoid this, try to balance out your intake over the entire week. Add an extra workout if you know you will indulge at a party. Don’t use the weekend as an excuse to overeat.

Going on a summer road trip? Eat healthy. Pack the car with some nutritious snacks such as low-fat granola bars and fresh fruit. Keep hydrated. Bring a cooler filled with bottles of water and other low-calorie drinks. Stretch those legs. Make sure to stop every 2 hours for a 10-minute walk.
